Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of murder in the second degree (intentional murder) for the shooting death of Akil Bomani and attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the first degree for shooting Omar Greenidge. The charges stemmed from an incident in the early morning hours of April 7, 1997 in which defendant, sitting in the front passenger seat of an automobile, discharged a handgun three times at close range killing Bomani...
