This case involves the constitutionality of a police officer's intrusion into an individual's home to seize a handgun in plain view to officers standing outside. The defendant, Raymond Lee Jones, filed a motion to suppress in which he argued that the officer's intrusion into his apartment to secure the firearm violated his Fourth Amendment right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.
