NATURE OF CASE

On October 26, 2000, Edwin Kula pled no contest to a charge of manslaughter, a Class III felony, in the district court for Merrick County. His plea arose out of the April 15, 1994, death of Jerry Carlson. This is the fourth time Kula has appeared before this court regarding this incident.
