The appellant, Mark Edgar Ritchie, was convicted of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, violations of § 13A-6-66(a)(1), Ala.Code 1975. The trial court sentenced him, as a habitual offender, to serve consecutive terms of fifteen years in prison in case number CC-98-387 and eighteen years in prison in case number CC-98-388.
