Henry and Gloria Parker, plaintiffs, filed suit individually and on behalf of their minor child, Shalana, against defendant, Dr. Donald Harper, for injuries allegedly caused by Dilantin, a drug prescribed by Dr. Harper to treat Shalana's seizures. Mr. and Mrs. Parker claimed two separate theories of medical malpractice, namely, breach of the medical standard of care and lack of informed consent.
