The defendant, John Harrison, was charged on 15 September 1999, by bill of information with armed robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64. He was arraigned 20 September 1999, and pled not guilty. A twelve member jury found him guilty as charged on 5 October 1999. On 26 October 1999, he was sentenced to fifty years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
