On July 15, 1999, in cause number 799,685, a jury found appellant guilty of murder, and on July 16, 1999, assessed punishment at forty years' confinement. Prior to appellant's conviction for murder, on April 25, 1997, appellant pled guilty to burglary of a habitation, and the court placed appellant on ten years' probation.
