FITZSIMMONS, J.

Defendant, Ryan Crotwell, was charged by grand jury indictment with second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. Defendant pled not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. After a trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty as charged. Defendant filed a motion for post verdict judgment of acquittal. The trial court denied this motion and sentenced defendant to life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation...
