This is a direct appeal from an order of a Superior Court judge allowing a preliminary injunction in a class action suit challenging St. 1999, c. 74, § 2, "An Act improving the sex offender registry and establishing civil commitment and community parole supervision for life for sex offenders" (the 1999 statute). The judge determined that the 1999 statute did not provide "sufficient meaningful due process protection," and issued a preliminary injunction...
