On October 23, 1998, the defendant, Frederick Knight, was charged by bill of information with possession of cocaine in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(C). The defendant pled not guilty at his arraignment on November 19, 1998. He filed a motion to suppress evidence, which was denied on March 8, 1999.
