Fausto Dozal Lopez (Lopez) pleaded guilty to various drug trafficking and money laundering offenses. He now appeals his sentence, arguing that the district court erred in concluding that the "safety valve" provisions in the sentencing guidelines prohibited a sentence below the statutory minimum.
