This certified appeal requires us to determine whether the Appellate Court properly concluded that the evidence was insufficient to support the conviction of the defendant, Tony Niemeyer, for kidnapping in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-92 (a) (2) (A) and (C),1 and, if not, whether the trial court's jury instructions on that offense were proper.
