I. The Facts

The plaintiff, now 30, suffered serious burns on December 8, 1992. The injury was inflicted by a friend, a guest in the plaintiff's Geneva Street apartment, when a hair spray solution was set alight and sprayed upon him. The friend was arrested and charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
