Cornell University (Cornell) hired Beacon, now Beacon Skanska USA, as the construction manager of a project to reconstruct Sage Hall. For present purposes, Cornell and Beacon may be treated as one. Beacon awarded contracts to a number of major subcontractors to perform the work. In each case, the contract required the subcontractor to obtain insurance "for the subcontractor's work" to cover Cornell and Beacon...
