Up until early September, 1997, Leo and Jacqueline Pike had a cordial relationship with their neighbors across the street. However, on September 6, Jacqueline Pike (Jackie) learned that her neighbors, two men, were sexual partners. Thereafter, Jackie and her husband, the defendant Leo Pike (Leo), engaged in acts of such open hostility against the men that criminal complaints ultimately issued.
