Plaintiff, Daniel L. Thomson ("Thomson"), was fired from his job with defendant Verizon Maryland, Inc. ("Verizon"), for misconduct. His union local attempted to save his job by prosecuting a grievance pursuant to the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
