OPINION

KEASLER, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, which KELLER, P.J., and MEYERS, WOMACK, and HERVEY, JJ., joined.

During an altercation at Cornbread's pool hall and bar, Anthony Randolph Ferrel hit William Patrick McManus in the mouth with a full beer bottle. McManus fell straight back, hit his head on the floor, and died at the scene. A jury convicted Ferrel of aggravated assault and sentenced him to six years confinement and a $2,500 fine...
