The plaintiffs, the Brunelles and Pustells, are parents who oversee the home education of their school-aged children. After prevailing in Brunelle v. Lynn Pub. Schs., 428 Mass. 512 (1998) (Brunelle I), where we declared that the plaintiffs' right to educate their children at home could not be conditioned on evaluative home visits by school officials, the plaintiffs filed a motion for attorney's fees...
