Multnomah County Sheriff's Deputy Ezell brought defendant from the Multnomah County courthouse jail to a courtroom for a proceeding in a criminal case. Once inside the courtroom, the deputy removed defendant's handcuffs and told him to sit in a chair at counsel table and "remain there." Ezell took a seat farther back in the courtroom.
