Henry T. Nicholia was accused of committing a burglary and a sexual assault in June 1998. At Nicholia's trial, the primary issue was the identity of the burglar/rapist. To prove that Nicholia was the culprit, the State offered evidence of two prior sexual assaults committed by Nicholia, one in 1990 and the other in 1992.
