Appellant, David Kelly Chapman, was found guilty by a jury of manufacturing a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in violation of Ark.Code Ann. section 5-64-401 (Repl.1997). Chapman, on parole at the time of his conviction, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Arkansas Department of Correction and fined $25,000. Our jurisdiction is authorized pursuant to Ark. R.
