YATES, Justice.

This is an appeal from the dismissal of a medical malpractice claim brought by appellant, Joseph Landry. The trial court dismissed Landry's claim with prejudice because of Landry's failure to comply with Section 13.01 of the Medical Liability and Insurance Improvement Act ("4590i") which, subject to some qualifications, requires a plaintiff to file an expert report and curriculum vitae within 180 days after filing a lawsuit.
