On March 7, 1977, J.L. Wade and Bertha Maurine Wade deeded approximately 65½ acres of land in Etowah County to their daughter Betty Wade Alexander and her husband Ray Alexander. The Wades reserved a life estate in the real property. The consideration was recited as "TEN AND NO/100—DOLLARS and love and affection to us paid by the party of the second part," the grantees.
