STATEMENT OF THE CASE:

On October 29, 1998, the defendant, Ronnie R. Moran, was indicted for aggravated rape of a child under the age of twelve in violation of La. R.S. 14:42. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty to the charge at his arraignment on December 4, 1998. A jury trial took place on October 5-6,1999.
