Garfield W. Ivey was convicted of criminal defamation, a violation of § 13A-11-163, Ala.Code 1975, and tampering with a witness, a violation of § 13A-10-124, Ala. Code 1975. On each count, he was sentenced to a term of six months' imprisonment and was fined $500.
