Defendant, Kenny L. McNeal, was tried by a jury and found guilty of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1.1 Prior to trial, Defendant had filed a motion to quash/motion to suppress regarding certain inculpatory statements he had made, which motion was denied. Following his conviction, Defendant filed a motion for new trial based on alleged new evidence, which the trial court also denied. Defendant was sentenced...
