Defendant Pedro N. Alvarez was charged by bill of information on September 17, 1997, with possession of four hundred grams or more of cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967(F)(c). Defendant pleaded not guilty at his October 1, 1997 arraignment. The trial court found probable cause and denied defendant's motion to suppress the evidence on January 23, 1998.
