WILLIAMS, Chief Justice.

This case came before us pursuant to a petition for certiorari filed by the State of Rhode Island (state), requesting review of the judgment of a Superior Court justice, finding that the defendant, Jacques Gautier (defendant), had not violated his probation. The state urges this Court to review the trial justice's findings and conclusions of law and to conclude that the decision of the trial justice was clearly erroneous...
