On 30 September 1994, Kirk Lamkin sued Kenny's Key West, Inc. (Kenny's), for damages Lamkin allegedly sustained on 7 August 1994 when, as a customer, he was struck and thrown to the ground in the Kenny's parking lot by a Jefferson Parish deputy working a detail for Kenny's.
