Following a bench trial in district court, Glen M. Peters appeals his conviction of being a felon in possession of a firearm under Neb.Rev.Stat. § 28-1206 (Reissue 1995). Before 1995, § 28-1206 did not apply to firearms with barrels in excess of 18 inches in length. But in 1995, § 28-1206 was amended to apply to all firearms.
