Following a jury trial in the district court for Adams County, Christopher Scott Decker was convicted of first degree murder, third degree assault, and two counts of using a deadly weapon to commit a felony. One of the weapons counts involved the use of a firearm and is a Class II felony, while the other involved the use of a sword and is a Class III felony. The assault charge is a Class II misdemeanor.
