Carlos Sainz was wanted by New Jersey authorities in connection with a double homicide that occurred in May, 1987. Sainz was arrested in Miami, Florida, on April 27, 1988, and was charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer, unlawful possession of a firearm while engaged in a criminal act, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
