On February 28, 1999, Robert G. Huffman, who was despondent over his imminent arrest by the state of Michigan, the custody circumstances of his ten-year-old son, and Huffman's inability to help him, telephoned the Wayne County Justice Center. Huffman told the dispatcher there that Huffman was at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve, Ohio, waiting for the police to come and kill him.
