FLANDERS, Justice.

There was nothing funny about this "Clown Town" murder, yet this is how some of the witnesses referred to the South Providence neighborhood where this fatal shooting occurred. The defendant, Rodney Perry, appeals from his conviction for first-degree murder, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a firearm after a previous conviction for a crime of violence, and carrying a weapon when committing a crime of violence....
