I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff Fred Keeling, an inmate in the Lansing Correctional Facility, filed this action, pursuant to 42 U.S.C. section 1983, alleging his Eighth Amendment and Due Process rights were violated. Doc. 1. Plaintiff named Greg Schaefer,1 Joseph Menghini, Charles Simmons, David McKune, and Sheryl Sawyer as defendants.2
