Defendant was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, M.C.L. § 750.224f, carrying a concealed weapon, M.C.L. § 750.227, and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, M.C.L. § 750.227b. The trial court granted defendant's motion to dismiss the felony-firearm charge on the basis that charging him with this count, in addition to the felon in possession charge, would violate defendant's constitutional protections...
