William Lyda Messer (Defendant) appeals a judgment dated 29 September 1999 entered after a jury rendered a verdict finding him guilty of felonious failure to appear pursuant to N.C. Gen.Stat. § 15A-543 and after he pleaded guilty to being an habitual felon.
