Derick Robinson was charged in a one-count indictment with possession with intent to distribute 86.9 grams of crack cocaine in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) (1994). After a two-day trial, a jury found him guilty of the offense. The district court1 sentenced Robinson to the 120-month mandatory minimum prison term under 21 U.S.C. § 841(b)(1)(A)(iii).
