NATURE OF CASE

Lucille M. Gibbons obtained a default judgment against Don Williams Roofing, Inc. (Williams), in the small claims court for Lancaster County. An attorney filed a notice of appeal in the small claims court indicating Williams' intent to appeal the judgment. The Lancaster County District Court dismissed the appeal for lack of jurisdiction, and Williams appeals.
