A statutory writ of certiorari may be granted only when an inferior tribunal has exceeded its jurisdiction or acted illegally, and there is no adequate remedy at law.1 We granted discretionary review in this matter to reconcile confusion in the case law as to whether the writ is available to correct errors of law.
