The respondent, Kenneth Ewoldt, appeals from a judgment declaring him a sexually violent predator under Iowa Code chapter 229A (1999). The finding was made upon evidence that respondent has been convicted of four sexually violent offenses, suffers from a mental abnormality known as pedophilia and is more likely than not to engage in predatory acts constituting sexually violent offenses, if not confined in a secure facility.
