A grand jury indicted Steven F. Peters on a charge of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree for assaulting J.H., age three. At trial, the state introduced evidence that skin cells found under Peters's fingernails had a DNA profile consistent with J.H.'s DNA profile. But the state did not introduce any evidence about how likely it would be for a randomly chosen person to match the DNA profile. Peters argues on appeal...
