Leroy Holmes was charged by bill of information on March 2, 2000, with possession of heroin, a violation of La.R.S. 40:966. At his arraignment on March 16, 2000, he pled not guilty. On March 28, 2000, the defendant withdrew his not guilty plea and entered a plea of guilty as charged.
