STATEMENT OF THE CASE

Defendant Ontrell Washington was charged by bill of information on December 1, 1998 with armed robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64. Defendant pleaded not guilty at his December 4, 1998 arraignment. The trial court found probable cause and denied defendant's motion to suppress the evidence on January 5, 1999. Defendant was found guilty as charged at the conclusion of trial by a twelve-person jury on June 1, 1999...
