In this personal injury action, the salient issues raised on appeal concern causation and quantum. For the following reasons, we amend, in part, and affirm.

On October 13, 1996, Charles Alan Lewis, II, while attempting to negotiate a turn, backed his 18-wheeler truck into a vehicle in which Melissa Knabel was a passenger.
