In November 1998, Georgette Delaney discovered defendant in the kitchen of her second floor apartment. When Delaney confronted him, defendant stated that he was looking for the Mittnights, who resided on the first floor of the building, and he was supposed to clean their carpets. After complying with Delaney's direction to leave, defendant stopped on the first floor and spoke to Linda Mittnight. Delaney, however, observed that Mittnight did not know defendant...
