The plaintiff, Earl Wearrien, filed suit against a co-worker, Victor Viverette, for personal injuries resulting from an altercation at work at the General Motors Corporation (GM) plant in Shreveport. The plaintiff also claimed that GM was vicariously liable for the tort committed upon him by Viverette. Both the plaintiff and GM filed motions for summary judgment.
