Following a federal jury trial, Edward Morris was convicted of mail fraud and wire fraud for his involvement in a public note offering by a now-defunct St. Louis savings and loan association. After his conviction was affirmed on appeal, Morris filed a breach of fiduciary duty complaint in the St. Clair County circuit court against, among others, a St. Louis law firm, which had represented Morris in several unrelated...
