Roslyn Vargas, a former police officer, was charged by amended information with three counts of perjury. Each count of perjury alleged that the crime occurred when, as a public officer, she made "a false statement which [she] did not believe to be true, under oath in an official proceeding" at a statement taken by an assistant state attorney during the course of an official investigation into the homicide of one Neil Napolitano.
