BNC National Bank, N.A., (BNC or the bank) sought to recoup its losses from various loan and credit transactions handled by Debra J. Gronlie, a former employee, under the terms of a financial institution bond issued by BancInsure, Inc. BancInsure remitted $886,319.34 to BNC and then brought suit in federal district court2 for a declaration of its obligation under the bond and for judgment based on its subrogation...
